Sabrina, Antonio, and Michele decide to organize a mountain running race in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru—one of the most beautiful places in the world—to raise funds. This gave birth to “Ande Trail,” a non-competitive race supporting the construction of five kindergartens in the Chimbote slum on the Pacific coast. The documentary Running for the Essentialis the result of the Ande Trail project and tells the story of the participants’ experience, the synergy behind the organization, and the vision of Ugo de Censi, founder of Operazione Mato Grosso and a volunteer in Peru for over 40 years.
